7th Annual Rising Above! Youth Explosion
Get ready for an unmissable event on July 17-18, 2024, as St. Pete College in Clearwater, Florida, gears up to host the much-anticipated Clearwater Neighborhood Family Center’s 7th Annual Rising Above! Youth Explosion.
This two-day event promises to inspire, educate and empower the youth with an array of activities, workshops and speakers.

Speakers
The event features an impressive lineup of speakers, including renowned motivational speakers, industry leaders, and successful entrepreneurs. July 17, 2024
3rd – 5th Grades
9 a.m. – 11 a.m. St. Pete College’s Jacob Wortock and his recruiting team greet buses and vans – Directs youth to registration inside ES Building. He will instruct group leaders to have their youth wait outside until they have completed the registration process. Youth will pick up their backpacks on their way towards the breakfast tables – located on the ground floor in the ES Building.
NO FOOD OR DRINK IS ALLOWED IN THE AUDITORIUM
9:45 a.m. Participants must be seated in the auditorium.

6th – 12th Grades
9 a.m.
– St. Pete College’s Associate Provost Cheri DeBlare welcomes youth to the campus.
– Clearwater Vice Mayor David Allbritton will address the youth on behalf of the City of Clearwater
– Registration and Breakfast
9:30 a.m. – PAL Drum Core leads group from ES Building to the Auditorium.
9:35 a.m. – Staff introduces a youth to sing or do Pledge of Allegiance and talk about the schedule for the day, the program, the tracks, food, gaming truck, sports teams, skateboard drawing, Xbox incentive and photo booth
9:45 a.m. – Staff introduces SPC Provost for a Welcome.
9:50 a.m. – SPC Provost introduces Ms. Stott, an astronaut to show pictures from outer space.
10 a.m. – Staff introduces dignitaries in the audience and JayR, a speaker
10:25 – The Stompdown Steppers lead the kids from the Auditorium to ES for Wellness Wonderland. Activities in Wellness Wonderland are Stress Reducer, Emotion Charades, Mindful Minute, Post It Affirmations, Living Lab, Suncoast Center, Zero Suicide, Calming Bottle Art, Paint Pouring, Reptile Display and Karate
11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Lunch with fruit snacks, water and Rita’s ices available.
Youth have until 11:30 a.m. to go through some activities. Youth can go back to Wellness Wonderland. At p.m., the STEM Activities open and the youth can go back and forth. Some activities like the reptiles can only be inside and only with us for a couple of hours because of heat and excitement.
12 p.m. – STEM Robotics Track starts. The activities available are 3D Printing, Robotic Computer Mouse, Auto Driving Simulator, Robot Bomb Dog, Rolling Robot Transformer video, DoBot Robotic Arm, SBT Jet Ski Engine, Drone Competition, Gaming Truck and BUCS/Lightning/Rays fun items.
1:30 p.m. – Prize drawings start (must be present to win). Check registration for list of winners for a skateboard, certificates, and the Center awards.
3 p.m. – End of event. Pick up Letter to Myself. Get it back to us by July 24th and be entered into a $25 drawing.
