The beach days are dwindling, the ice cream trucks are making their final rounds, and parents everywhere are both celebrating and dreading the return of the school year. But fear not, dear Clearwater residents, for this year, back-to-school preparation is getting a delightful twist! Welcome to Clearwater’s Back to School events, where free school supplies and backpacks rain from the heavens like a confetti of practicality!
Back to School Sales Tax Holiday
Florida retailers give a tax break on all clothing items, backpacks and footwear $100 or less, school supplies $50 or less and the first $1,500 on personal computers or personal computer-related items. Back to School Bash
Dozens of family resources offer up free school supplies and backpacks at this event with activities, a scavenger hunt and raffles. Free. July 27, 2024, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Back 2 School Bash: Hope in the Park
This family event moves into the air-conditioned gym for a free community dinner, games, inflatables, school supplies and a food assistance drive-thru. Free. August 1, 2024, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Clearwater’s recreation centers are gearing up for an exciting Back-to-School Bash Series! Get ready for giveaways, pool parties and more as we prepare the new school year.
