An inspiring event for youth (and adults) is coming to Clearwater on July 19 – 21, 2023 Rising Above! Youth Explosion
The 6th Annual RISING ABOVE! YOUTH EXPERIENCE offers workshops, performances, free food, activities, contests, prizes and more.
This free Youth Leadership Conference brings community, individuals, and organizations together in a safe environment to discuss issues, find common ground and produce solutions that even youth can participate in to create a better community.
The dates of the conference are Wednesday, July 19, 2023 – Friday, Jul 21, 2023, 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Terry Jones, Executive Director of the Clearwater Neighborhood Family Center explains, “The conference targets youth in grades 3 through 12.”
This year’s conference will feature the mascots from the Rays, Bucs, Threshers, Lightning and reps from the SPC Titans; Liquid Fire from America’s Got Talent; a unique performance by Artz4Life which combines African American, ballet, Latin and Asian flare dances; steppers; The Doodles – giant poodles that paint; yoga; Green Screen videos; art performances; a marching band; Reptiles Petting Zoo; driving simulator; drones; rockets; stress busters; mental Safety TV panel and track; games; 3D printing; arts & crafts; robots with eyeballs that flash, roll around and talk; a dance room; Stilt-man; a paint pouring station; regular painting; martial arts; sports fun teams; inflatables; virtual game bus; Bits & Pieces puppet show; TikTok room; magic paint; jugglers; and a free lighted bicycle drawing. About the Clearwater Neighborhood Family Center
The Mission of the Clearwater Neighborhood Family Center (CNFC) is enriching the lives of children and families in the spirit of community and common goals by being a resource for collaborative partnerships. The center is dedicated to the belief that families should have the resources, support, and skills necessary to raise children in a healthy and safe neighborhood, which promotes the development of their maximum potential.
CNFC was created in 2008 as one of the nonprofit organizational leaders of the “Family Neighborhood” movement in the State of Florida. The Family Center is located at the North Greenwood Recreation and Aquatics Center. We are a member of a collaborative partnership, which includes The Juvenile Welfare Board, the City of Clearwater Parks and Recreation Department and the Neighborly Care Network. Families come to the Center seeking assistance with basic needs, after school care for their children, assistance with food, rent, utilities and a chance to participate in programs such as healthy cooking, parenting classes, well baby classes, safe social media classes, job interviewing workshops and an array of services as needed.
